Implementation of a Distributed Process Engine on constraint devices on the example of Esprimo-based microcontrollers

Description:

This thesis explored and evaluated the possibilities of integrating constrained IoT devices / micro controllers into a process execution environments. In particular, it was investigated how a process engine can be installed/executed on strongly limited micro controllers and what consequences this has for the development of a process engine.

For the implementation, the JavaScript-based distributed process engine from the PROCEED project was given. It was tried to be integrated onto Espruino MCUs.

Another aspect of this thesis was the investigation, how different communication standards (e.g., Bluetooth, NFC, WiFi, etc.) can be used in the given process engine.
