Bachelor Thesis: Integration and Application of a Transparency-enhancing User Interface in a Web Tracking Context
Title:
Integration and Application of a Transparency-enhancing User Interface in a Web Tracking Context
Description:
Webtracking is a method used by many websites that relies on collecting data to provide enhancements and personalized content. However, this practice threatens the privacy of Internet users. This risk can be reduced with increased transparency. The GDPR gives the user the right to monitor the exchange of his data at any time. However, the data of the user are processed without his knowledge to so-called third parties. In this thesis, I introduce the concept and development of my Chrome Extension, which aims to provide more transparency about third party tracking. For this purpose, the user is to be provided in a user-friendly manner with more information about all third parties and data flows involved in the visited website.
