Privacy-Enhanced Reactive Indoor Positioning
Positioning system like GPS work very poorly in indoor environments, so improving these systems by adding indoor positioning capabilities seems natural, especially since devices like smart phones are widely spread nowadays. Thats is why with the rise of ubiquitous computing comes ubiquitous positioning. Because position data is a one of the very personal and sensitive information, it needs special consideration and protection.
In this thesis, indoor positioning systems are discussed using relevant scientific work. Their impact on privacy and existing privacy solution are evaluated. Two use cases are devised from existing positioning projects, namely the PARADISE and PiAZZA project. Using knowledge gathered from the related work a system that enables indoor positioning is devised and imple- mented. The concept and implementation of this system are done under the aspect of enhanc- ing privacy, therefore special focus is put into the balance of privacy with other system relevant aspects of such a system. Finally the solution is evaluated under the aspect of enhancing the users privacy using the given use cases.
