Dipl.-Inform. Sebastian Zickau

In 2002, I finished my diploma thesis during a project at the IT-Service-Center of the Technische Universität Berlin [2] where I worked as a student research assistant. The main focus of the thesis was on e-mail and smartcard security. After I received my diploma, I continued to work at the tubIT Service Center [3] in Berlin as a research assistant. During this time, I contributed to several security, policy, and access control projects, such as TUBIT and OBAN. In 2008, I started to work as a research assistant at the University of Reading [4] in England for nearly three years. I joined the EU-funded Hydra Middleware project (now LinkSmart middleware) in the School of Systems Engineering. My main focus was on security/policy aspects and context-awareness functionalities during the realization of the Hydra software along with work on project demonstrators and general research.

In March 2012, I joined the Telekom Innovation Laboratories [5] in Berlin. As a research scientist in Prof. Dr. Axel Küpper's chair Service-centric Networking [6], I contribute to the projects TRESOR, Curcuma, PARADISE, IdentityChain, and DIMS.My main research areas are on location-based services, applied security, privacy-enhancing technologies, access control policies, self-sovereign identity, and distributed ledger technologies.
