Prof. Dr. Axel Küpper
Since December 2009 I'm a professor for Service-centric Networking at Telekom Innovation Laboratories, which is a public-private partnership of Deutsche Telekom AG and Technische Universität Berlin. Before, I was an assistant professor and research assistant at the Mobile and Distributed Systems Group at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, where I received my postdoctoral lecture qualification (in German: Habilitation). Prior to that, I was a research fellow at the Chair of Computer Science IV at Aachen University of Technology, where I received my Ph.D. and diploma (both in computer science).
My research topics include new and innovative services and service concepts for the Internet and mobile networks, in particular Ubiquitous Computing, Location-based Services, and Software as a Service. My group and I are also addressing problems and challenges of Electronic and Mobile Commerce, service discovery, and open marketplaces. Besides research and teaching in these areas, other professional activities include the organization of workshops, the participation of programme committees and related reviewing activities. Furthermore, I'm a member of the leadership team of Telekom Innovation Laboratories.
