Dipl.-Inform. Dirk Thatmann

Dirk Thatmann is research scientist at Service-centric Networking group led by Prof. Dr. Axel Küpper at Telekom Innovation Laboratories, Berlin.

He holds a Dipl.-Inform. in Computer Science from the Technische Universität Berlin. He received his diploma with the completion of his thesis "Development of an IPTV Middleware Abstraction Layer for Web-technology driven Service front-ends" at the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (FOKUS) in Berlin.

He worked as a Research Engineer and R&D Project Manager at Fraunhofer FOKUS having the focus on Smart Interactive and Rich Media, IPTV, Hybrid TV, Convergence of Web and TV and IPTV Standardization (OIPF, ETSI TISPAN IPTV).

He joined Telekom Innovation Laboratories in May 2012. He was involved in the BMWi-funded project TRESOR that aims to deliver a cloud ecosystem for cloud services. He was resposible for the desin and development of the XACML-based distributed authorization system.

He is currently leading the Entrance project, that aims to deliver a user-centric system able to increase the security and privacy level of shared data and to regain control over remote data using data-centric security technologies, such as Attribute-based Encryption.
